Experiment: how to practically assess the degree of influence of television on your personality?

Hi all!

Actually, to the essence of the topic. Surely many of us have heard, or read that television, Internet and so on somehow influence us.

Surely someone even took some tests, like: “find out, How addicted are you to the internet?…”

But for sure no one tried to practically estimate, and as far as this concerns me specifically?

Obvious things, which, at first glance it's easy to check. How? I suggest you an experiment.

Quite simple but, as it turned out, not everyone could stand it.

Moreover, I noticed many times, how people's opinions change during the experiment.

If you are one of those, who watches TV – then you can do it too.

What's the point?

Started.

Stage 1 )

A few days (two – three) We watch a lot of TV.

Favorite programs, TV series and so on.

Stage 2 )

We unplug the TV from the socket and don’t watch or turn it on for a month under any circumstances..

Then go to social network accounts and log out of all. Without any snot on the walls and “a little bit from the phone”. Social media – we chop it off too.

We watch ourselves carefully: does it make you want to watch it again?, Is there a feeling of information hunger or some psychological discomfort?, some even feel some devastation…

We are watching, how relationships and communication with your immediate environment change (family, friends and so on)

Some of my friends, Having decided to do this, they became twitchy, irritable, alarming – This is fine.

Any reactions (unless you already have a specific mental disorder due to severe addiction) will decline over time. The freed up time begins to be used differently…

All in all, I will free you from describing all cases and variants of people's behavior, but I'll say one thing – All, those who decided to do this by the end of the second stage clearly stated that this had a positive effect on them. By the way, not everyone reaches the end of this. “They're breaking down”.

Stage 3 )

Turn on the TV again, we look a lot, social networks and all that – damn it, you will be surprised at that, how differently you will see those things, which were the norm.

TV – nauseating beyond belief, much of it, what are we watching (we read – watched) stupid to the point of insanity, advertising … For a normal person, this whole stream of informational feces causes rejection.

No worries about dozens of virtual friends – because suddenly there were fewer real ones.

World, your life, she became closer to you, the past tense suddenly seemed more important than that, what they pour into our heads from the screens. Looking at them you see some kind of outside world, crazy and delusional – so to speak, “on the bottom”.

Stage 4 )

Over time, all this will seem normal again, in principle.

Then – the most important – remember Stage 3 , feel the difference and opportunity, strength to win back … ease of decision or the greatest internal resistance overtook you? This is where the answers come to you.

Or you could come to that, so that your life and consciousness are sober and not subject to external factors of various kinds of manipulators ( which I wrote about earlier) or you felt how seriously TV and other things influence your consciousness and … gave up.

P.S. despite the apparent simplicity and inconspicuousness of this experiment – this is difficult for many of us… Good luck!
